Preschool Program

Barrington Early Childhood Center (BECC) has two Preschool offerings. Each Preschool class has an enrollment of 18 children and 3 qualified teachers. All children must reach the age of 3 to be qualified to join our Preschool programs.

2 Day Preschool

This class typically has our “younger” three year old children (those children who turn three years old in late spring or during the summer). It meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings from 8:45 – 11:30.

3 Day Preschool

This class typically is a mix of older three year olds and younger four year olds. It meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:45 – 11:30.

The primary goal of our programs at BECC is to provide a positive school experience in an environment that is nurturing and enriching. Each day consists of open room time, a teacher guided project, circle time, story, music, snack and outside play.

Also:

Socio-Emotional Development: Experiencing a sense of self-esteem, exhibiting a positive attitude toward life and demonstrating cooperative, prosocial behavior.

Cognitive Development: Acquire learning and problem solving skills, expanding logical thinking skills, acquire concepts and information leading to a fuller understanding of the immediate world, demonstrate skills in make believe play, expand verbal communication skills, develop beginning reading skills, acquire beginning writing skills.

Physical Development: Gross motor skills, enhance and refine fine motor skills, use all senses in learning.
