All Pre-K children are eligible to participate in our optional Monday Club enrichment program. This is a class of 18 children who come to school from 9:00-2:00 every Monday. Because the class is drawn from all three Pre-K classes, this is a fun opportunity for children to make new friendships with children they may not necessarily see in their regular classroom.
Explore, Enrich and Engage
There are limited openings available for our Monday Club program! Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to explore, enrich, and engage. The class will delve into the following enrichment units next year.
Bon Appetit! – During this unit we will EXPLORE various cuisines! Soups, breads, desserts and more made from scratch. Now that’s what we call cooking with class.
Authors and Illustrators – During this area of study we will ENRICH our minds with various writing styles, and artistic mediums. Local professionals will visit our class to share their talents and perhaps inspire a future author and/or illustrator.
Green Thumb Kids – We will ENGAGE in an age appropriate approach to gardening. All the aspects of soil & seeds, shovels & rakes, water & weeds, and don’t forget the bugs & worms – will be a part of this curriculum!
Safari/Rainforest – Life in the rainforest will be EXPLORED during this unit. Some questions to answer are; Where are the rainforests? What is the weather like? Who and what lives there? What might we see on a safari?
Community Helpers – Who are the people in our community and what do they do? Special guests will visit the Monday Club class . . . police officers, postal workers, veterinarians, librarians…What would you like to do when you get older?
